SciVal Funding App

Find funding opportunities in SciVerse using the SciVal Funding Application! The app - the first of its kind for Elsevier -  can be installed in SciVerse ScienceDirect and SciVerse Scopus and uses the Elsevier Fingerprint Engine™ to match available funding opportunities to the article or abstract that you are reading.

App showing up to 5 results

Finding relevant funding to support your research is essential, so for every article in ScienceDirect and abstract in Scopus published after 1996, we will try to match you with up to five funding opportunity recommendations from SciVal Funding. Varying by subject area, we are able to provide at least one recommendation for approximately 30% of the Scopus abstracts.

Powered by the Elsevier Fingerprint Engine, each abstract in Scopus is scanned and analyzed, and a Fingerprint is created to extract the key concepts or research themes.  These Fingerprints are then matched to Fingerprints created for the SciVal Funding opportunities to provide the recommendations. SciVal Funding subscribers will automatically link to the opportunity details pages or the search results of their given keyword search in SciVal Funding.  From there, users can further explore the funding landscape and awarded grants for their research area of interest.

If no funding opportunities are found,
a search box will appear

The purpose of this application is to complement a ScienceDirect or Scopus user’s literature search and provide relevant funding opportunities that are closely related to their area of research.  If there are no close matches, a SciVal Funding search box will appear allowing a user to execute keyword searches.

For those of you with a keen eye, you may have noticed a number of small changes take place over the past few months. Amongst other things, we have streamlined the interface to make identifying relevant funding opportunities easier and have added graphical metrics to sponsor information to give users a quick overview on who and what has been funded.
